Rollins Rolls Past Gyrenes.

The 15th ranked Rollins College Tars (5-1) used a big first half to power them to a fourth straight win (94-71) over the Ave Maria Gyrenes Tuesday night at Warden Arena.
  Matt Robertson paced the Tars with a game high 25 points. The Alabama native was 10-12 from the charity stripe and 8-9 from the floor. Three other players scored in double figures for the home team. Myk Brown had a second straight solid game as he posted 23 points. Nick Wolf added yet another double-double (16 points and 15 rebounds) while Alex Castillo netted 11 points off the bench to go along with 3 steals.
 The Gyrenes(5-2) had a pair of players in double figures. Kiel Lewis paced Ave Maria with 25 points while Jimmy Torney added 11.
 The game was tied at 6 in the early going. After the first three minutes the Tars took control with a 8-0 run that made it 14-6. The two teams would go back and forth the next several minutes before a pair of Kiel Lewis free throws would close the Tar lead to 22-17 with 8:42 in the half. The Tars would outscore the Gyrenes by a wide margin the rest of the half and would open up a 50-26 lead at the break.
  The Tars lead would not be less than 20 points for the rest of the second half. Rollins shot 51 percent for the ball game while the Gyrenes shot 37% on the night. AMU was 7 of 20 (35%) from the three point line while the Tars went 3-16 (19%). The Tars were a tad better than AMU at the free throw line. The Tars were 27-36 (75%) while the Gyrenes were 14-20 (70%). The Tars dominated the glass 47-35.
  The Tars will take a break for the Thanksgiving holiday and will be back in action December 2nd  when they will travel to West Palm Beach to face Palm Beach Atlantic. Tip time is set for 7 PM.
