The Rollins Tars (19-11) saw the 2012-13 basketball season come to an end with a 59-53 loss in the South region quarterfinals against the Saint Leo Lions at Jenkins Field House Saturday night.
As he has all season long, Kyle McClanahan provided the offense for the Tars. McClanahan's brief Rollins career came to a close with a 21 point effort on Saturday evening. The only other Tars who managed double figures was Scott Schuette with 11 points off the bench. Chris Uhle chipped in six points and seven rebounds.
Saint Leo had three players score in double figures. SSC Player of the Year Marcus Ruh had 20 points and nine rebounds, while Jerrel Harris netted 14. Shaun Adams just missed a double-double with 11 points and nine rebounds. It was the third time the Lions have beaten the Tars in four meetings this season.
The Tars shot 37 percent for the game, while the Lions shot just 31 percent. Both teams nailed seven 3-pointers and had 11 turnovers. The Lions dominated the glass 39-27.

The Lions would stretch that lead to 12 (33-21) at the 17:18 mark. The Tars would then go on a a 8-2 run capped by a Schuette hoop that would cut the lead to six (35-29) with just under 14 minutes to go. The Tars would not get any closer in the next 12 minutes. A 7-0 Tar run would cut the lead to four (52-48) and that is as close as the Tars would get.
