Battle In Boca! Tars Face Lynn Thursday.

The Rollins College Tars (4-3) will open conference play when they battle the Fighting Knights of Lynn (4-0) in Boca Raton.  The game will be a 7:30 PM tip at the Count and Countess D"Hoernle Sport and Cultural Center.
  The Tars are playing the first game for them in over a week Thursday.  This after playing seven games in 11 days to begin the campaign.  The Tars last two times out they defeated schools from Puerto Rico (Bayamon and Mayaguez.)  This was after three consecutive losses. Two in Charlotte to Livingstone and host Johnson C.Smith. Rollins began the season with a two game sweep in Atlanta over Clark Atlanta and Paine.
  Alex Blessig leads the way for Rollins averaging 12.3 points a game. The junior had 21 the last time out and has a team leading 27 assists in the first seven games.  Blessig is third in the SSC averaging 2.6 steals per contest.  Chris Uhle had 14 points and eight rebounds the last time out.  He is averaging 11.4 points and 5.6 rebounds a game.  The senior leads the conference with 18 made 3-pointer's and is second in the SSC with 16 blocked shots.  Scott Schuette puts up 10.1 points a night to round it out for Rollins.  Mike Bedulskis has consecutive 12 point games after getting off to a slow start to the season.
 Rollins is eighth in the conference averaging 72.1 points per game on the offensive end. On defense the zone has given a few teams trouble and they are fourth giving up 66.4 points a night. The Tars will look to improve on the back boards.  Rollins is last in the league at a -5.7 rebounds per night.
  Lynn (4-0) has won by an average of 26 points per contest during the Fighting Knights current win streak.  The Fighting Knights have a pair of wins over Puerto Rico Mayaguez. They also defeated Armstrong and Seton Hill.  The Fighting Knights set a school record for points in a half (68) in the last win over Mayaguez.
 The top scorer and fifth leading scorer in the SSC is Aaron  Harrison at 17.8 points per game.  David Johnson nets 14.8 a night and is shooting 62 percent from the field.  Pavle Riekovich (12.5 points per game and Haki Stampley (10.8 ppg) also average in double figures.  The Fighting Knights are second in the SSC putting up 96.8 points a game.  The defense is fifth in the conference giving up 70.8 a contest.
