Rollins Trips Up Tarzans.

The Rollins Tars (4-3) had a balanced attack for the second straight day at Warden Arena.  This time it was the Tarzans of Puerto Rico Mayaguez (0-4) that fell 76-62 inside the Alfond Sports Center.
  Nine Tars got in the score book with four of them reaching double figures. Alex Blessig led the way with 21 points. The senior transfer from Florida Gulf Coast was 7-8  from the field including a 3-pointer and 6-7 from the free throw line in 34 minutes of action. He also dished out four assists.  Chris Uhle chipped in 13 points and eight rebounds in his 25 minutes. Mike Bedulskis scored 12 points for the second consecutive day.  The transfer from UNC Asheville also grabbed six rebounds in 15 minutes.  Sharif Almulla rounded out the double digit scorers putting up 11 points in 17 minutes.  Kyle Koszuta dished out a team high five assists in his 15 minutes.
  The Tarzans had three players tally double figures.  Giovanni Guzman and Jamie Perez scored 13 points each- while Alexander Curet scored 12.  Jerome Caraballo scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds.  
  For the second straight game both teams were slow getting going in the first half.  After the first 10 minutes it was tied at 14.  The Tars would then run off a 13-4 run capped off by a Scott Schuette conventional 3-point play to make it 27-18. The Tarzans would close to within three late in the first half (29-26) but the Tars would lead 37-29 after the first 20 minutes.
  The first nine plus minutes of the second half were played fairly evenly as Rollins would lead by 11 (53--42) at the 10:40 mark.  The Tarzans would get as close as six twice but that is as close as they would get.  The last time being 62-56 at the 4:45 mark.  Rollins would run off the next 13 points to open up a 17 point lead (73-56) at the 2:00 mark.
  The Tars shot 55 percent for the game while holding the Tarzans to 34 percent from the floor.  The Tars shot 32 percent (6-19) from the 3-point line while Mayaguez was 28 percent (7-25.)  Both teams struggled at the foul line. Rollins shot 67 percent (18-27) while the Tarzans shot 58 percent (15-26.)  The Tars won the rebounding battle 38-32.  Rollins had 22 assists to 12 for the Tarzans.  Rollins had 23 turnovers that cost them 19 points.  The Tarzans had 18 turnovers that cost them 13 points.
