The Rollins Tars play just their second home game in six contests when they welcome Puerto Rico Bayamon to Warden Arena for a 7:30 PM tip Monday.
The Tars (2-3) look to snap a three game losing slide after a rough weekend in Charlotte. The Tars had some chances but ultimately dropped both games in the Johnson C.Smith Tip Off Classic. Friday it was a 89-82 loss against the Blue Bears of Livingstone and then Saturday afternoon the Tars lost 64-59 to the host Golden Bulls of Johnson C.Smith. Alex Blessig led the Tars with 14 points on Friday night. Saturday Rollins was led by Scott Schuette with 14 points and six rebounds- while Blessig added 10. Blessig was named a member of the All-Tournament team on Saturday. In the only home game of the season thus far, the Tars fell 66-60 to Warner.
Blessig leads the way for the Tars putting up 12.2 points a game thus far this season. The senior is averaging 3.8 rebounds and 3.4 assists a contest. Chris Uhle is netting 12 points a night. The senior from Ocala leads the team with 5.4 rebounds an 2.6 blocks a night. Uhle is now the Tars all time leader in blocked shots. Schuette is scoring 11.2 a game to round out the Tars double digit scorers. Sharif Almulla is providing some much needed offense off the Tars bench as he is putting up 9.8 points a night.
Bayamon will be playing their first game of the season Monday. It begins a stretch of five games in six days against Sunshine State Conference opponents. Bayamon was a 65-49 loser to the Tars a season ago.
