Top Seeded Tars head to Melbourne For Showdown with Tampa Saturday.

The Rollins College Tars look to reverse some bad fortune in the SSC tournament semifinals Saturday at the Clemente Center on the campus of Florida Tech at 7:30. The Tars are just 1-7 all time against Tampa in the SSC tournament. The Tars have only not reached the finals one time  when they were the top seed of the tournament (1992).
The Tars (23-6) rolled past Barry in the quarterfinals on Wednesday 83-62. Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year Nick Wolf led the Tars with 21 points including three of three from the three point line in the opener. Rollins coach Tom Klusman also was named SSC coach of the Year Thursday. Matt Robertson who made the All SSC second team added 13 points while Nikola Baran drained 4 of 7 three pointers en route to his 12 points. Chris Malcolm came up big off the bench scoring 10 points and grabbing six  rebounds.
Tampa (22-6) made sure that the hosts from Florida Tech were not involved in the weekends action. The Spartans behind 33 points and 12 assists from Rashaad Callaway defeated Florida Tech 91-73. The Spartans just like the Tars hit 15 three's in Wednesday's win. Glynn Hunter (13 points), Callum Townsend and Fred Woods (11 each) also scored in double figures for the fourth seeded Spartans.
Rollins and UT split a pair of games during the regular season. Each team protected it's home court. The Spartans won January 2nd in Tampa while the Tars returned the favor a month later in Winter Park. Wolf averaged 17 points and 12 rebounds a game for the Tars in the two meetings. Anthony Griffis scored 17 a game for the Spartans in the two contests. The winner will face the winner of Saturday's first semifinal between second seeded Florida Southern and third seeded Eckerd.
  The Line: Rollins by 4.5
