Tars Look To Rebound From First Loss in Day Two of Great Western Shootout.

The Rollins College Tars (7-1) will look to rebound both literally and figuratively from Thursday's loss to Western Washington when they face the Wildcats of Central Washington (6-3) in  day two of the Great Western Shootout in Las Vegas.
 The Tars lost 80-61 to the Vikings in the opener on Thursday. Dave Diakite led the way with 14 points, while Myk Brown added ten. The Tars were doomed by 16 turnovers and going just 27-42 at the free throw line. All nine Rollins players who saw action scored at least three points. The Tars came into the tournament as the tenth ranked team in the country and led by Jeremy Sharpe (14.4 ppg). The Senior from Saint Louis had just four in the loss Thursday. Myk Brown came in averaging 13 a game and scored ten vs the Vikings. Ian Scott and Chris Malcolm each came into the tourney averaging ten a game. Scott had nine  to go along with seven rebounds Thursday, while Malcolm had six points and two rebounds after being saddled with foul trouble most of the night. A Rollins team that came in allowing just under 60 points a game allowed 80 to the Vikings.  The Vikings out rebounded Rollins 39-30.
 The Wildcats come into Friday at 6-3 on the season. They were a 85-75 loser to Alabama Hunstsville in the nightcap yesterday. Kevin Davis led CWU with a double-double (21 points and 14 rebounds), while Lacy Haddock chipped in 14. Jordan Colby (11 points) and Jody Johnson (10) rounded out the double digit scorers from the Wildcats. Central Washington shot 44 percent as a team and went just 8-25 from three point land. The Wildcats struggled at the foul line, going 11-25 (44 percent) in the game. The Wildcats come in with a balanced attack. Six players average double figures on the season. Tyler Toussant (14.6 ppg) and Kevin Davis (13.2 a contest) pace the Wildcats. Brandon Magee  and Lacy Haddock contribute 11.3 and 10.9 points a game respectively. Jody Johnson (10.1 ppg) and Jordan Colby (10 a game) round out the double digit scorers. The Wildcats average 85.2 points a game as a team while allowing just over 71.
