Tars Set To Host LEC in Tangerine Opener.

The Rollins College Tars (7-2) try and snap a brief two game losing slide Thursday when they host the Lake Erie Storm in the opener of the 37th annual Winter Park Rotary Tangerine Tournament at Warden Arena. Rollins who was number 10 in the NABC Division II coaches poll will look to get back to their winning ways after dropping a pair of  contests in the Great Western Shootout in Las Vegas. The first being a 80-61 loss to Western Washington, before a 88-80 loss to Central Washington. Chris Malcolm was a bright spot for the Tars out west. He made the All Tournament Team, including a career high 28 points in the game against Central Washington. The Tars come into Thursday's contest with all five starters averaging double figures on the season. Jeremy Sharpe leads the way at 13.6 points a contest, Myk Brown adds 12.6 a night and Dave Diakite tallies 10.8 a game. Chris Malcolm (10.7 ppg) and Ian Scott (10.3 a night) round out the double digit scorers for a Tar team that averages 70.7 points a contest while allowing 64.4 points a night.
 Lake Erie comes in with a record of 4-4 on the season. They are fresh off a 62-60 thrilling win over Northwood (Mich) last time out. The Storm are led by Richard Austin. The Sophomore from Cleveland,OH paces LEC averaging 13.8 points and 6.9 rebounds a contest. Riley Thomas (Cardington,OH)  comes in chipping in 10 points a contest.  Nate Tait (South Euclid,OH) comes into Winter Park averaging 9.1 points a game. The Storm average 63.8 points a contest.
