Rollins got off to a fast start and scored the game's first nine points. Adam Allen nailed a 3-pointer to cap off the 9-0 Tars run in the game's first three minutes. Seven minutes in the Tars would hold a 16-6 lead after a pair of Kyle McClanahan free throws. Wake Forest would then go on a 14-3 run to take a 20-19 lead on a dunk by Miller-McIntyre with 6:36 in the half. Wake would get a free throw with 33 seconds left to take a five point lead (28-23). The Tars would answer with a McClanahan jumper at the buzzer to make it 28-25 at the half.
The Demon Deacons came out hot in the second half and stretched the lead to 42-32 after three minutes. Halfway thru the second half a Aaron Rountree 3-pointer would make it 52-37 Wake Forest. The Tars would rally late behind some hot 3-point shooting. It would be 71-66 Wake with 15 seconds left. That would be as close as the Tars would get.
