The Rollins College Tars (6-1) riding a six game win streak will take on the Aggies of Cameron University in day two of the inaugural Rollins Las Vegas Classic at the Doolittle Center at 3 PM eastern time Sunday.
The Tars are coming off a hard-fought 65-61 win over Abeline Christian on Saturday. After trailing by 12 points with 17:56 to go the Tars rallied for the victory. Kyle McClanahan had a career high 24 points to go along with five rebounds and five assists. Dave Diakite added 15 and had a key steal with 70 seconds to play, while Adam Allen knocked down four 3-pointer's to account for his 12 points off the bench.
McClanahan leads the Tars in scoring at 13.6 points a game. He also averages 5.7 rebounds and 5.5 assists a contest. Brett Chance is second on the team at 12.6 a night. Three other players average double figures for the Tars. Dave Diakite (10.4 a game,) Mitch Woods and Adam Allen net 10 points per contests each. McClanahan leads the Tars with just over two steals a game. Jeff Dirkin has blocked 12 shots to lead the team.
The Tars come into the contest averaging 74.6 points a game. The Tars stifling zone has held their opponents to 58 points a contest. The Tars are shooting 47.6 percent as a team and 38 percent from the 3-point line.
The Aggies (5-4) of Cameron University are coming off a 78-70 win over Florida Tech on Saturday. The Aggies were led by four players in double figures. Craig Foster led the way with 21 points, Tim Johnson chipped in 16, while Andrew Thomas and Rudy Harrell netted 10 each. Craig Foster is the only Aggie averaging double figures at 14.2 a game, Tim Johnson is second on the team at 9.9 points a night. The Aggies score 66.8 a game but give up just 63.7 a contest. They shoot 45 percent as a team and 30 percent from the 3-point line.
