Tars Welcome Tampa Wednesday.

The Rollins College Tars (15-4 7-2 SSC) welcome to the Tampa Spartans to Warden Arena Wednesday evening.  Rollins is coming off a hard fought overtime win over Eckerd on Saturday. They are tied for second in the conference with Saint Leo in the standings.
  The Tars who were previously ranked 19th fell out of the polls after a tough 97-74 loss at home versus the Mocs of Florida Southern. Rollins bounced back on Saturday and knocked off Eckerd.  The win improved the Tars record to 2-0 in overtime games on the season.
  As they have all season, Dave Diakite, Kyle McClanahan and Adam Allen led the way for the Tars in the win Saturday. Diakite scored 21 points and paces the Tars season box score at 14.4 points and 6.3 rebounds a game. McClanahan had 16 in the previous game and comes into the battle with Tampa putting up 14.3 points a night. He is second in the SSC in assists at five a game.  McClanahan is also second in the league in field goal shooting and 3-point percentage.  Allen is also scoring double figures on the year. He was held to nine in the Eckerd game. Allen averages 10.9 points a game and is third in the league in 3-point shooting.
  The Tars are third in the SSC on offense, scoring 73.8 points a game. Defensively, the Tars are second in the league giving up 65.3 a contest.  The Tars lead the league in both 3-point shooting (40 percent) and field goal shooting (48 percent.)
  Tampa has struggled since getting off to a hot start. After a 12-0 start, the Spartans suffered a 82-76 loss to Rollins and now sit at 15-6 (2-6 on the year.) The Spartans have won the last two (over Palm Beach Atlantic and Florida Tech.  Da'Marcko Foster leads a pair of Spartans in double figures.) Foster puts up 17.7 points a game, Anthony Griffis chips in 15.4 a contest and Vincent Cornu is third on the squad at 8.7 points a game.  The Spartans are fourth in both offense and defense in the SSC. Tampa scores 73.4 points a game and gives up 68.3 a contest.
