The Rollins Tars (7-13 0-9 SSC) will look to snap a eight game losing slide when they travel to West Palm for a non-league game against Palm Beach Atlantic (7-11)at Rubin Arena Wednesday. A 89-61 win over PBA in Winter Park was the last win for the Tars.
The Tars come in to Wednesday coming off another tough loss Saturday. The Tars led much of the way before falling to Lynn 65-63 at Warden Arena. Of the Tars nine losses in the SSC, six have come by four points or less. Jeff Merton had a career high 23 points in the loss to Lynn. The Naples native also grabbed six rebounds. He had 18 of his 23 points in the opening half. Sharif Almulla had 12, while Kyle Koszuta added a career high 11.
Alex Blessig is leading the Tars in a trio of offensive categories. The junior from Berlin comes in averaging 10.9 points a game- he adds four assists- and- 2.3 steals per contest. Chris Uhle averages 10.4 a contest- while Merton leads the team in rebounding averaging five a night.
PBA comes in losers of the last two. The last time out the Sailfish were a 93-67 loser to #3 Florida Southern. Clayton Williams led the way with 15 versus FSC- Evin Graham had a double-double (13 points and 10 rebounds)- while Garet Tucker scored 10.
The Sailfish have three players averaging double figures on the season. Graham leads the way putting up 13.1 a night- Ronnell Ross puts up 11.2- and- Tucker averages 10.1 per game. Ross also grabs 7.1 rebounds a contest. The Sailfish score 63.5 points a game- while they allow 65.9 a game.
