The Rollins Tars return from the holiday break Saturday as they travel to Saint Leo to take on the Lions. The game can be heard on 91.5 FM WPRK and also at RollinsSports.com. It is scheduled to tip at 4 PM at the Bowman Activities Center.
Rollins (7-4 1-2 SSC) looks to bounce back after a pair of losses in Las Vegas prior to the holiday break. The Tars were a 89-79 loser to Angelo State and then fell 72-53 to Tarleton State in Las Vegas. The Tars will look to win back to back conference games for the first time this season after defeating Palm Beach Atlantic to get Tom Klusman career win number 700 in December. The game against the Lions will be just the second true road game of the season for the Tars. Jakobi Bonner leads the team in scoring at 16.1 points per night and hauls in 4.8 rebounds per contest- Connor McKim averages 14 points per night and is leading the team averaging 2.8 assists per contest. Rollins is fifth in the league in scoring offense (79.3 ppg-) and- is also fifth in defense (72.8 points per night.)
Saint Leo (4-7 1-2 SSC) is coming off a 77-70 loss to Cedarville in the Mocs Christmas Classic at Florida Southern. Like the Tars the Lions lone conference win came against Palm Beach Atlantic. The Lions are also the only team to lose by single digits to #6 Nova Southeastern, as they lost 77-75 to the Sharks. Kyran McClure is the leading scorer for the Lions averaging 13.9 points per game- Junior Searcy nets 11.8 points per contest- and- Yalen Reed is scoring 11.4 per night and leads the team dishing out five assists a game. The Lions score 72.2 points per game- while they allow 74.6 per contest. The Lions will look to snap a five game losing streak to the Tars at the Bowman Activities Center.
