Rollins Set To Battle #8 PBA In West Palm

 The Rollins College Tars (9-7 3-5 SSC) travel to West Palm Beach to take on the #8 Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish (15-1 7-1 SSC) at Rubin Arena tomorrow (1/17) at 4 PM.  Rollins has not played since a 91-73 loss to #3 Nova Southeastern on Saturday. Ricky Ghedini led the Tars with 16 points in the defeat, Omar Figueroa added 15, and Jackson Gaffney contributed 11. Rollins shot 37 percent from the floor and 33 percent from the 3-point line in the defeat. Rollins scores an SSC 9th best 82.9 points per game while they give up 73.8 points per night which is second in the SSC. Rollins shoots 46 percent from the floor (5th SSC,) 35.6 percent from the 3-point line (5th SSC,) and 74.3 percent from the free throw line (4th SSC.) They are 9th in turnover margin (-2.00) and 6th in assist to turnover ratio (1.21.) They also dish out 17 assists per game (5th SSC.) Rollins is seventh in opponent field goal percentage (43.2 percent,) 6th in opponent 3-point percentage (32.7 percent) and is leading the conference in rebounding margin, getting 11.4 (41.6-30.2) more rebounds than the opposition. The Tars 3.06 blocks per game is 8th in the conference and the 7.25 steals they get per game is also 8th in the SSC. Jah Nze paces the season box score at an SSC 7th best 17.9 points per game while Omar Figueroa notches 15.1 points per contest. Matus Malovec continues to lead the team in rebounding at 5.6 caroms per night, Figueroa leads the team and is 10th in the SSC shooting 47.7 percent from the field. He is also second in the conference in 3-point percentage (46.4 percent.) His 2.8 triples per night are good for fifth in the SSC. Marshall Klug (89.3 percent) and Nze (76.6 percent) are third and ninth respectively in free throw percentage.  PBA comes into tomorrow's contest a perfect 11-0 on the season at Rubin Arena. Last time out they were a 82-70 winner at Tampa. Preston Le Gassick paced the Sailfish with 25 points, Alvin Tumblin  added 19 to go along with 14 rebounds, Graham Worland added 13, and Trent McNair tallied 10. On the night PBA shot 43.5 percent from the field, 34.5 percent (10-29) from the 3-point line, and 57.1 percent (12-21) at the free throw line. PBA scores 89.1 points per game (3rd SSC) and leads the conference holding the opposition to 68.8 points per contest. The Sailfish lead the conference in field goal percentage (51.1 percent,) 3-point percentage 38.9 percent, and are sixth in threes made per contest (10.3.) They struggle at the free throw line where they shoot just 60.6 percent (11th SSC.) PBA is sixth in turnover margin (-0.19) and third in assist to turnover ratio (1.68.) They also dish out a league leading 20.88 assists per night. PBA is 1st in opponent field goal  percentage from both two point (38.7 percent)  and 3-point range (28 percent.) They are second to the Tars in rebounding margin getting 11 more rebounds than the opposition (44.1-33.1.) The Sailfish block a league best 5.38 shots per game and get 7.5 steals per game (6th SSC.) Le Gassick paces the season box score at an SSC 3rd best 19.9 points per game while Tumblin gets 13 per night. Christian Kirkland leads the team getting 5.7 rebounds per contest while Tumblin leads the conference shooting 68.3 percent from the floor. Le Gassick (43.3 percent) and Tyler Burton (40.2 percent) are 4th and 8th respectively in 3-point percentage. Le Gassick leads the league knocking down 3.6 treys per contest. Le Gassick is fourth in assists per game in the SSC (4.7) and leads the league in assist to turnover ratio (3.3.) Kirkland is tied for the league lead in blocked shots (1.8) while Le Gassick is top 10 in steals per night (1.4.)
