Pair Of High Powered Offenses Battle In Melbourne Wednesday.

The Rollins Tars and Florida Tech Panthers will do battle at the Clemente Center in Melbourne on Wednesday night. The Tars come in with a record of 5-1 overall and 1-0 in the SSC. On the other hand the Panthers came in 1-1 in the SSC and 5-3 overall.
  Rollins comes into the game after making school history in the last three contest's. For the first time ever the Tars eclipsed the century mark in three consecutive games.  The last time out was a hard fought 104-99 win over NAIA Thomas College last week.  The Tars come into the contest on Wednesday second in the SSC averaging 90.5 points a game.
  Sam Philpott has scored 20+ points in consecutive games and leads the Tars in scoring at 15.8 points a game.  Jeff Merton comes into the contest putting up 15.5 a contest- while Jack Fleming who missed the first three games of the season has scored 13 a night since his return.   The Tars are ninth in the nation in 3-point shooting, shooting at a 45 percent clip.
  Florida Tech also possesses a high powered offense. The Panthers come into the game averaging 88.6 a night which is third in the SSC. Jordan Majors paces the Panthers.  He is third in the conference putting up 21.5 a night- Majors scored 35 earlier in the season against Eckerd and is coming off a 27 point performance against William Jewell last time out.  Sam Daniel is also off to a big start for the Panthers, Daniel comes in putting up 21.4 a game and leads the team in rebounding at 7.9 per contest.  Patrick Anderson has been solid as well. Anderson is putting up 13.6 points a night- and he is leading the nation with 53 assists on the year.
  The last meeting between the schools was a 75-72 win for Florida Tech on February 13,2016.  The Tars have dominated the series in the past, leading 61-29.
