The Rollins Tars(1-0)will continue play in the SSC/SIAC Crossover on Saturday when they play MoreHouse (1-0) at 4:30 PM on Saturday. The Tars were a 69-60 winner in the nightcap on Friday, after Morehouse was a 11-point winner over Florida Tech.
The Tars used a balanced attack to knock off Clark-Atlanta Friday night. After getting off to a sluggish start in the opening half the Tars who trailed by as many as 12 points would rally for the 69-60 victory. Sam Philpott led the Tars with 18 points in the game- Joey Galvis, Deion Clark and Jeff Merton scored 13 points each.
Morehouse is the host school in this year's tournament after Paine was the other SIAC school the previous two seasons. Tyros Walker is the leading returning scorer at 13.7 points per game a season ago. Jordan Wallace scored 19 points in there exhibition loss to Ole Miss. Omar Alston and Martravious Little scored 11 and 10 points respectively in the exhibition game.
Little led the Maroon Tigers in the win Friday night with 18 points- Duby Maduegbaum added 16- Omar Alson and Jordan Wallace had 13 each and Tyrius Walker added 10 in the 79-68 win over Florida Tech Friday night.
The meeting Saturday will be the first ever between the two schools.
