The Rollins Tars take on the University of Auburn-Montgomery Saturday in day two of the SSC/SIAC Crossover. Each team comes into the contest with a 1-0 record.
The Tars saw nine players score in a 72-60 win over Benedict in the opener. Jakobi Bonner led four Tars in double figures with 18 points on the afternoon. Daniel Loh posted a double- double with 15 points and 12 rebounds- while Hutton Yenor tallied 13 points in the opener. Connor McKim netted 12 points to round out the double digit scorers. The Tars shot 48 percent from the field and 33 percent from the 3-point line in the victory. They shot 77 percent (20-26) from the free throw line. Rollins won the rebounding battle 40-28.
Auburn-Montgomery opened the season with a 71-65 victory over host Florida Tech in the opener of the SSC/SIAC crossover. Carlos Bell led the Warhawks with 19 points and 11 rebounds- while Tre Hansbrough added 13. The Warhawks shot 46 percent in the contest- and- 37 percent from the 3-point line. They were a solid 81 percent (17-21) from the free throw line. The Warhawks had eight assists and 16 turnovers in the first game of the year. The WarHawks were out-rebounded 33-31.
