Tars Take Care of Tarzans Wednesday.

The Rollins Tars held the Tarzans of Puerto Rico Mayaguez to just 18 first half points and 32 percent shooting for the game in a 81-52 win at Warden Arena.  With the win the Tars stayed perfect (5-0) on the season.  They have won five straight games by double digits. The win gave coach Tom Klusman win number 698, as he is just two wins shy of the next milestone victory of his storied career.
   Jakobi Bonner led three Tars in double figures with 16 points to go with six rebounds- Connor McKim netted 14- and- Parker Davis had 10 for Rollins.  The Tars shot 42 percent from the field- 35 percent (9-26) from the 3-point line- and- 75 percent (18-24) at the free throw line.  The Tars continued there dominance on the glass, out rebounding the visitors 45-32.  Rollins had 14 assists and 14 turnovers in the contest.
  The Tarzans (0-3) were led by Heirbero Rivera and Diego Mariana who scored 11 points each.  The Tarzans shot 32 percent from the field- 20 percent (6-30) from the 3-point line- and- 71 percent (12-17) from the free throw line.  They had 10 assists and 24 turnovers in the contest.
   Rollins jumped all over Mayaguez early and led 14-0 six minutes in.  They would lead 41-18 at the intermission.  The Tars shot 47 percent in the opening 20 minutes.  The Tars would come out in the second half and go on a 12-2 run that extended the lead to 32 (56-24.)  They would cruise from there, as the Tarzans got no closer than 22 the rest of the way.
  The Tars will be back in action Wednesday when they battle Embry-Riddle in the SSC opener for both teams.  Tip off is set for 7:30 PM and as always you can catch the action on RollinsSports.com as well as on 91.5 FM WPRK.
