Rollins Travles To Fort Valley To Open 2025 Campaign.

 The Rollins College Tars under the direction of second year head coach Kevin Hogan travel to Fort Valley, Georgia to take on the Fort Valley State Wildcats on Saturday.  The Tars are coming off a 16-14 record last season. That included a 5-8 mark away from Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center. Matus Malovec, Ian Hart, John Latimer, Michael Niemann and Michael Kalina return along with William Jobe who made contributions a season ago. Latimer is the top returning scorer at 14.6 points per game. The Tars will have some holes to fill after the departure of key cogs Beau Frericks,  who is now a graduate assistant , Sergey Grishaev, and Dylan Wolle. Rollins scored 82.7 points per game while giving up just over 80 points per contest. They shot the ball extremely well at 48 percent from the field and better than 37 percent from the 3-point line. 

The Wildcats went 12-17 last season but were 8-4 at home. In an exhibition game on Thursday a 90-56 loss to Georgia State Derek Delgado was the only FVSU player in double fugues tallying 15 points on a perfect 3-3 shooting from the 3-point line. Danny Delgado added eight while they got six each from Meka Nnaji and CJ Williams. Last season they scored 67.3 points per game while allowing 72.6. per contest. Fort Valley shot 41.1 percent from the field but just 27.6 percent from the 3-point line.
