The Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish and Rollins College Tars both came into Thursday night's contest red hot and something had to give. It was the 13th ranked Tars (5-2) who saw their 4 game win streak snapped with a 68-60 loss to the Sailfish (6-2) at Rubin Arena Thursday.
David Wood had another monster game for the Sailfish. Wood poured in a game high 28 points. Matt Roy chipped in 18 for the Sailfish who ran their win streak to four. PBA shot 43% from the floor in the game including a sizzling 55% in the second half. PBA shot 10-26 (39%) from long distance. The Sailfish nailed 14 of 17 (82%) of their foul shots. PBA out rebounded the Tars 35-33. The Sailfish did have 19 turnovers in the game.
The Tars lost for the first time since a loss to Valdosta State in the second game of the season. Four Tars tallied double figures. Myk Brown netted 19 points to lead the way, Nick Wolf added 18 to go along with 10 rebounds while Matt Robertson and Nikola Baran had 11 each. The Tars shot 36% from the floor. Usually a solid three point shooting club the Tars shot just 21%(5-24) from distance. Rollins was 14 of 17 at the line and had 14 miscues.
Rollins will return to action December 11th with a noon tip against Southeastern University.
