The Rollins College Tars (9-2) won for the fourth straight game with a 81-68 win over the Shock of Washington Adventist (2-9) in the opening round of the Winter Park Rotary Tangerine Tournament.
Nick Wolf led three Tars in double figures. Wolf posted yet another double-double with 28 points and 11 rebounds. Wolf scored 20 or more points for the fourth straight game. Wolf was 9 of 14 from the floor including a 3 and 9-9 at the free throw line. Matt Robertson added 12 points and 8 boards. Robertson was 4 of 8 from the floor and 4 of 6 at the stripe. Myk Brown rounded out the Tar double digit scorers with 10 points. Brown was 3 of 5 from the floor and 3 of 4 at the line. Rollins shot 39% for the game. The Tars were 5-14 (36%) beyond the arc. The Tars were 77% (20-26) at the charity stripe. The Tars had 23 miscues in the game.
The Shock had a pair of players in double digits. Khalid Martin led the way with 22 points. Martin was 8-13 from the floor and 6-8 at the foul line. Eric Peguero added 16 for the Shock in a losing effort. The Shock shot 39% from the floor in this one. They were 6-23 from long long range. The Shock went 14-21 at the foul line. They had 16 miscues in this one. The Tars won the boards battle 36-28.
Rollins will face the Rams of Winstom Salem State(5-0) in the tournament championship Thursday at 7 PM. the Rams knocked off Flagler 86-78 in overtime in the opener Wednesday.
