#11 Barry Staves Off Tars.

The 11th ranked Barry Buccaneers led by as many as 22 points Saturday, saw the lead cut to single digits and ultimately hung on for a 103-91 win at the Barry Sport and Health Center Saturday. With the victory Barry improves to 6-1 and 3-0 in the SSC. The Tars saw a five game win streak come to an end as they fell to 5-3 overall and 3-1 in the SSC.
  Barry was led by Sawyer Glick who poured  in a game high 34 points.  Elvar Fridriksson had 20 points and dished out 10 assists- while Sunday Dech added 15.  The Bucs shot 59 percent as a team in the contest.  They shot 51 percent (22-43) from the 3-point line.  At the free throw line the Buccaneers shot 83 percent (5-6.)  They had 30 assists and 17 turnovers as a team.  They won the rebounding battle 35-20.
  Rollins was led by Jeff Merton who had a team high 27 points.  Connor McKim added 19 points and five assists- while Sam Philpott scored 13.  Eric Castaneda also scored in double figures with 11.
The Tars shot 56 percent as a team- 50 percent (9-18) from the 3-point line- and- 79 percent (22-28) at the free throw line.  They had 14 assists and 13 turnovers in the game.
  The game began with Rollins scoring the first six points The Bucs would then score the next eight points.  Glick would get hot from the 3-point line and give Barry a 12 point lead (25-13.)  He would tie the Barry school record with 11 3-pointer's made today.  The Tars would trail by 15 (47-32) at halftime.
  With 18 minutes to go the Tars were down 22 but they would not go away.  At the 4:17 mark it was a eight point game (88-80) behind Merton and McKim.  McKim would hit a 3-pointer shortly thereafter and it would still be a eight point game (93-85) with 2:24 to go.  The Bucs would ultimately would ultimately close it out at the free throw line and send the Tars to what would be a first conference loss of the season.
