Rollins Pummeled By ERAU in SSC Opener.

The Rollins Tars had no offense for the high powered offense of the Embry-Riddle Eagles and struggled on the offensive end themselves in a 99-66 loss to open SSC play at Warden Arena. With the loss the Tars fall to 4-3 and 0-1 in the SSC. After the victory the Eagles improve to 8-1 and 2-1 in the SSC.
 A trio of Rollins players scored double figures on the night led by 15 points from Connor McKim- Jakobi Bonner added 13- and- Dayton Gumm chipped in 11. Rollins shot 37 percent from the field and 37 percent from the 3-point line (10-27-) they shot 71 percent (12-17) at the free throw line. The Tars had 11 assists and 15 turnovers.
 The Eagles were paced by 23 points from Romeo Crouch- Nick Herd knocked down five 3-pointer's on his way to 22 off the bench- while Luka Majstorovic tallied a 13 points and 10 rebound night- Chris Murray chipped in 10 of his own. The Eagles shot 49 percent as a team- 41 percent (15-37) from the 3-point line- and- 71 percent (10-14) from the free throw line. The Eagles pummeled Rollins on the boards 54-25. They had 24 assists- and- 12 turnovers as a team.
  Rollins had the lead in the early going but hot shooting from the Eagles would provide them with a 23-9 lead halfway thru the opening stanza. The lead would be 46-24 in favor of the Eagles at halftime.
 The second half much like the first was all ERAU. The biggest lead would be 38 at the 8:50 mark as the Eagles coasted to victory.
Rollins will look to bounce back Saturday when they head to Tampa. The tip against the Spartans from the Bob Martinez Center is set for 4 PM. As always you can catch all the action on RollinsSports.com
