Rollins (5-3 1-1 SSC) is coming off a win over Tampa last time out. Both Brooks Cluxton and Hutton Yenor scored 13 to lead the way in the victory. Jakobi Bonner paces the Tars box score scoring 16 points a night to go along with five rebounds per contest. Yenor is contributing 12 points a game off the bench- while Dayton Gumm nets 11.6 a night. Trevor Recio is leading the team in rebounding grabbing seven rebounds per contest. NSU (6-0 2-0 SSC) has rolled past the opposition thus far this season. They are winning by an average of 39 points per game during this current six game win streak. The Sharks have scored more than 100 points in all but two contests they have played- and- average 119 points per game as a team. Last time out NSU throttled Ave Maria by a score of 134-95 on Wednesday. Mark Matthews and Lukas Puisis paced the Sharks with 24 points in the victory- as seven NSU players scored in double figures. Matthews is pacing the NSU box score putting 20.5 points a game- to go along with a team leading 8.7 rebounds per night. Nick Smith is not far behind putting up 19.3 per game- while RJ Sunahara nets 15 per contest. Nine different NSU players are averaging double figures on the season- the Sharks also leading the nation in field goal percentage (61 percent- 3-point percentage 45 percent- along with rebounding margin +15.7- and- assists per game (26.5.)
The Tars have beaten the top ranked team twice all time. In 1976 they defeated Florida Southern 82-68- and- in 1986-87 they knocked off Tampa 77-75 in overtime. The last meeting Rollins had with the top ranked team was back in 2017 when they lost 86-68 to Fairmont State.
