Rollins (4-3 0-1 SSC) was dominated 99-66 by ERAU in the conference opener in Winter Park on Wednesday. Three Tars scored in double figures in the contest. Connor McKim paced Rollins with 15- Jakobi Bonner netted 13- and- Dayton Gumm tallied 11. Rollins was pummeled on the glass 54-25 in the defeat. Rollins led early, but the Eagles took the lead and were ahed 23-9 midway thru the first half. It was a 46-24 advantage for the Eagles at halftime. The second half was more of the same as the Eagles led by as many as 38 when they coasted to victory.
Rollins is averaging 80.1 points per game as a team on the year. Defensively they are allowing 77.9 per night. Bonner leads the team in scoring at 17.7 per game- both Gumm and Hutton Yenor are netting 11.9 per night. Trevor Recio leads the team in rebounding at 7.4 per contest. McKim is dishing out a team leading 3.5 assists per night.
The Spartans (2-6 0-2 SSC) are also looking to get in the win column for the first time in conference play. Last time out they were a 63-61 loser to Eckerd. Pat Bacon poured in a game high 29 points to lead the Spartans- while Derrick Felder added 11. Both Martin Lakovic and Felder corralled six rebounds- while the Spartans only had five assists as a team in the contest. They shot 41 percent from the field- 35 percent (7-20) from the 3-point line- and- 57 percent (12-21) at the free throw line. They also had 15 turnovers in the loss.
Tampa scores 69.5 a points a game as a team- while they allow 72.8 per contest. Bacon leads the season box score at 22.6 points per night- while Johnathan Bryant (15.4 ppg-) and- Vincent Biffle (10.7 per night) also average double figures. Felder leads the team in rebounding at 6.4 per night- while Bacon dishes out a team leading 3.1 assists per night.
