Tars Tangle With FIT Wednesday.

The Rollins Tars will return home Wednesday night and battle the Panthers of Florida Tech at Warden Arena.  Both teams come in with a 4-7 record in the Sunshine State Conference. The Tars are 10-11 overall, while FIT comes in 14-8.
  It will begin a three game home stand for the Tars to close the season. Rollins is coming off a pair of losses. The last was a 66-57 loss to Eckerd in St.Pete.  Mitch Woods led the way for Rollins with 15, and Sharif Almulla added 12 before suffered a sprained ankle.  Almulla will not play Wednesday and is out indefinitely.  The Tars continue to excel on the defensive end and struggle on offense.  Rollins is tops in the SSC allowing just 64 points a night.  On the other end, The Tars are last in the conference scoring 66.9 a night.  Woods continues to lead the Tars in scoring on the season. The senior averages 14 points a night.  Alex Blessig also averages double figures at 10.2 a game. The Florida Gulf Coast transfer is shooting 53 percent from the field on the season.  Adam Allen puts up 9.4 a game.  He is coming off a scoreless game versus Eckerd. Jeff Dirkin leads the Tars in rebounding, hauling in 6.1 rebounds a contest.
  FIT has also lost two straight.  The Panthers have lost seven of 10 after a 11-1 start.  The last time out the Panthers were a 72-64 OT loser to Tampa.  Jermaine Jackson poured in 23 to lead the way for the Panthers- Chris Carter posted a double-double (13 points and 10 rebounds.)  FIT is second in the SSC putting up 81.5 points a game.  At the other end, the Panthers allow 76.8 a night.
  Jermaine Jackson paces the Panthers with a conference leading 20.8 points a night.  Chris Carter has been solid all year, he puts up 18.4 a game and dishes out 7.9 assists a game.  Corbin Jackson averages a double-double.  He scores 15.4 a game and hauls in a league leading 11.3 rebounds a contest.
