The Tars cruised to a 85-69 victory over Lynn to snap a four game losing skid last time out. Sharif Almulla led the Tars with 18 points in the win- they also got 16 points each from Jeff Merton and Sam Philpott- Mike Bedulskis also scored in double figures with 10. The Tars shot the ball extremely well in the victory. They shot 57 percent (27-47) from the floor- and went 10-18 (56 percent) from the 3-point line. They also out rebounded Lynn 32-28 and shot 75 percent (21-28) from the free throw line.
Rollins comes into the game averaging 83.4 points per night. On the defensive end they allow 73.3 per contest. They shoot 39 percent as a team from the 3-point line. Also shooting 49 percent from the field- and- 82 percent from the free throw line.
The Tars leading scorer is Almulla at 15.7 per game- Merton scores 15.1 a night- while Philpott is just shy of double figures at 9.9 per night. Bedulskis and Merton share the team lead in rebounding at 4.6 per contest. James Ferrell leads the team in assists at 4.5 a night.
Saint Leo is coming off a 99-94 win over Florida tech the last time out Wednesday. Marcus Dewberry poured home a game high 34 points for the Lions in that one. Tyreece Brice scored 23- Carter Belling scored 11- and- Caleb Stewart 10 in the Leo victory. The Lions shot 49 percent as a team. They shot 42 percent (11-26) from the 3-point line. This included shooting at a 79 percent clip (22-28) from the free throw line.
Three Lions average in double figures on the season. Dewberry paces Saint Leo averaging 19.4 points per game- Stewart averages 14.3- while Brice puts up 13.3 a night. The Lions score 85.5 points a game as a team- they also give up 84 a night. They shoot 45 percent as a team. They are also shooting at a 38 percent clip from the 3-point line.
