Rollins Hosts Florida Tech Saturday.

The Rollins Tars (17-6 9-3 SSC) will welcome the Florida Tech Panthers (12-12 4-9 SSC) to Warden Arena on Saturday afternoon.  The Tars will be seeking their seventh straight win, as coach Tom Klusman aims for win number 650 of his career.  You can catch all the action on the Geico Tars Sports Network at RollinsSports.com and on 91.5 FM WPRK WinterPark.
  The last time out Rollins rolled to a 88-75 win over rival Florida Southern. The win was the first for the Tars in Lakeland since the 2011-12 season.  The Tars clinched a home game in the first round of the Sunshine State Conference Tournament with four games to play.
  Four Rollins players scored in double figures in the victory, led by Sam Philpott with 19 points- Jeff Merton added 14- James Ferrell stuffed the stat sheet with 12 points, four rebounds and three assists- while Joey Galvis chipped in 11 for the second straight game.
  The Tars average 83 points per game on the offensive end which is fourth in the SSC. At the other end they only give up 75 points a contest.  They also lead the league in field goal percentage (nearly 49 percent) and free throw shooting (just under 80 percent.)
  Merton is the top scorer for the Tars and is 10th in the SSC averaging 15.1 points a game- Philpott chips in 11.8 points a night- while Sharif Almulla nets 11.7 points a game.  Klusman is looking to be just the fifth active coach to win 650 games.
    Florida Tech comes in off a 104-88 loss to Barry Wednesday. As he did against Rollins, Yunio Barrueta went crazy scoring 41 points against the Panthers.  It was the 15th straight home victory for #12 Barry.
  Corbin Jackson had 25 points and 11 rebounds for the Panthers- it was his 11th double-double of the season. Jordan Majors just missed a double-double (15 points and nine rebounds-) while Sam Daniels scored 15.
  Florida Tech is right behind Rollins (fifth offensively) averaging 82.8 points a game.  On the defensive end they are sixth in the conference allowing 82.2 points a contest.
  Jackson leads the Panthers season box score at 14.4 points a night- Majors registers 13.6 per game- while Jackson leads the SSC in rebounding at 10.1 per contest.
