Rollins Back In Action At Home Wednesday.

The Rollins Tars return home Wednesday to play Tampa in a SSC clash Wednesday at Warden Arena. The Tars come in at 7-6 on the season and 1-3 in the SSC.   The Tars are coming in reeling, they have dropped three straight all to top 20 opponents. The most recent was a 90-70 drubbing at the hands of Barry on Friday. The Tars are 5-1 at home on the season and hope the home court advantage will get them back on track Wednesday.  Eric Castaneda led the Tars in scoring the last time out with 14 points and four rebounds- Connor McKim added 13 points- while Joey Galvis scored 10. Sawyer Glick scored 27 to lead Barry in that game. Adrian Gonzalez scored 21- and Elvar Fridrikkson had a game high 10 assists.
   Sam Philpott leads Rollins in scoring at 16.9 points a game- this is ninth in the SSC.  Jeff Merton comes in averaging 14.5 points a contest. The junior from Naples is 35 points shy of 1,000 for his Rollins career. He leads the team averaging five rebounds a night- and has buried a team leading 33 3-pointer's.  Joey Galvis averages 10.4 a game and is leading the SSC with 2.4 steals a contest (33 on the season.)  Connor McKim leads the team in assists at 3.5 a night.  the Tars are fifth in offense in the SSC putting up 83.6 points a night- but are really struggling on the defensive end where they are seventh giving up 84.2 a night.. The Tars have been out rebounded by a league worst 6.8 rebounds a night- but lead the league in steals with 9.46 per game. Rollins is 3-5 since Deion Clark broke his hand.
  Tampa is coming off a 80-70 win over Florida Southern last time out.  Duke Shelton had 18 points and 10 rebounds for the Spartans in that one- Matt Johnson added 15 points- four rebounds and four assists.  The victory was Tampa's first at Jenkins FieldHouse in 11 years.
  Shelton is 12th in the SSC and leads the Spartans in scoring at 15.2 points per game- while Pat Bacon puts up 15.1 a contest.  Austin Rettig is second on the Spartans with 21 3-pointer's made and is scoring 12.9 a night- while Marcel Robinson leads the team with 27 3-pointer's made. He is putting up 11.3 a game.
  Shelton leads the Spartans in rebounding at 9.9 a game- followed closely by Grant Bryant at 7 a night.  The Spartans lead the SSC in blocked shot with 53 (more than four a game.)  They are seventh in the SSC in scoring at 81.8 a game. Defensively they are second in the SSC giving up 74.8 a game.
