Rollins Overcomes Slow Start, Beats PBA.

In a sense Saturday's game at Rubin Arena between the Rollins College Tars and Palm Beach Atlantic Sailfish was a microcosm of the Tars season. They got off to a slow start, but came away with a victory 80-72 at Rubin Arena in Palm Beach.
Rollins (13-8 7-5 SSC) has now won five straight. The Tars were led by 20 points from Sam Philpott in this one- Connor McKim added 15- Jeff Merton netted 12 and grabbed seven rebounds- while Joey Galvis also scored in double figures with 10.
The Tars shot 44 percent as a team in the victory- they shot 36 percent (9-25) from the 3-point line. At the free throw line The Tars shot 79 percent (15-19.)  They had 12 assists and 10 turnovers as a team in this one.
PBA (9-10 5-7 SSC) was led by 18 points by Malek Barber- Bakari Warthen added 13- while Dakota Zinser and Milos Kostic netted 12 points each.  The Sailfish shot 40 percent as a team. From the 3-point line they shot just 24 percent (7-29.)  They also struggled at the free throw line where they shot 59 percent (17-29.)  The Sailfish won the rebounding battle 42-36. They had 14 assists, as well as 14 turnovers.
PBA came out on fire and took a 13 point lead (19-6) to begin the game.  The Tars would then go on a 13-0 run of their own to knot the game at 19 with 9:01 to go in the first half.  The Sailfish would go up by seven (35-28) at the 3:34 mark of the opening half. The Tars would trim the Sailfish lead to one (38-37) at halftime.
The Tars would come out in the second half and fall  behind by four early and would take a seven point lead (55-48) at the 12:54 mark.  PBA would come back and tie the game at 63 after a Zinser 3-pointer at the 6:53 mark. The Tars would then pick up the defensive intensity as PBA would not make another field goal until the game's final seconds. The Tars would lead by nine (74-65) at the 2:24 mark of the game. The Sailfish would not get any closer than six the rest of the way as the Tars would complete the season sweep of PBA.
