The Tars (12-8 6-5 SSC) come in riding a four game win streak. They held off a furious second half rally by Florida Southern to complete the season sweep of the Moccasins 94-88 at Jenkins Fieldhouse on Wednesday. Connor McKim poured in a career high 27 points in the victory- Sam Philpott added 25- Jeff Merton had 16- and- Joey Galvis added 10. Merton recently passed Deon Troupe and is now 34th in Rollins history in points scored for a career with 1,075.
Rollins is led by four players in double figures on the season. Philpott averages 15.6 a night to lead the way- Merton adds 15 points and 5.4 rebounds a game- McKim has come on strong of late scoring in double figures in four of the past five. The freshman from Louisville is coming off a career high 27 last time out and is now putting up 10.4 a game on the season- while Galvis puts up 10.1 per night. Galvis is leading the SSC and is ranked ninth nationally with 46 steals on the year. The Tars score 80.5 points a game- but they give up 79.9 a night.
PBA (9-9 5-6 SSC) is in a stretch where they are playing eight consecutive games at home. The last time out they squeaked out a 62-60 win over Lynn Wednesday. Bakari Warthen scored 24 points to lead the Sailfish in the victory. Warthen leads PBA averaging 13.8 points and 5.1 rebounds a game- Malek Barber averages 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds a game- while Grant Gullett scores 11.5 a game- and- is grabbing 4.3 rebounds a night- Lucas Morales leads PBA in rebounding at 6.5 per game. PBA averages 77 points a game on offense- while they give up 78.3 a night on defense. The Sailfish are third in the country in steals a game (10.7-) and third in turnovers forced per game (19.2.)
Rollins was a 59-47 winner in the first meeting this season back in Winter Park. The Tars are 3-4 on the road this season- while PBA is 4-3 at Rubin Arena.
