FSC Spoils Yenor's Career Day.

For the third straight game the Rollins Tars had a chance to win late but could not get the job done. After losses by one point in each of the last two contests Rollins fell 85-83 to Florida Southern on Wednesday night. Hutton Yenor had a career high 28 points in the losing effort.
 Rollins (8-6 2-4 SSC) got four 3-pointer's and 28 points from Yenor- while Jakobi Bonner added 17. Bonner is now one point shy of being in the 1,000 point club. Kyle Marion added 15- and- Brooks Cluxton tallied 12 points to go along with eight rebounds.
 Jair Rodgers led the way for the Mocs (13-2 5-2 SSC) with 20 points- Brett Hanson just missed a double-double with 19 points- and- nine rebounds- while EJ Dambreville had 15 points- and- eight rebounds.
 Rollins shot 49 percent as a team- 27 percent (6-22) from the 3-point line- and- 75 percent (9-12) at the free throw line. They had 17 assists- and- 11 turnovers as a team.
 The Mocs shot 46 percent from the field- 30 percent (7-23) from the 3-point line- and- 76 percent (16-21) from the free throw line. Southern won the rebounding battle 38-37. They had 14 assists- and- eight turnovers in the contest.
 Rollins got off to a good start and led 31-18 at the 9:03 mark of the first half. Five minutes late the lead dwindled to one (38-37.)  With 3:22 in the half the Mocs took the lead and led 49-48 at the half.
 After being down by five twice the Tars battled back each time but FSC led by nine (75-66) with 6:36 to go. Rollins went on a 12-2 run over the next three minutes as Yenor hit a pair of triples and Cluxton converted a conventional three-point play. It was 78-77 in favor of the home team with 3:17 left. After the teams traded baskets Bonner knotted the game at 83 with 14 ticks on the clock. FSC got a 15 foot jumper from Rodgers and the half-court shot by the Tars did not go as time expired.
 Rollins will be back in action Saturday when they travel to West Palm to face Palm Beach Atlantic. Tip time at Rubin Arena is set for 4 PM. You can catch all the action on RollinsSports.com and on 91.5 FM WPRK Winter Park.
