Rollins Falls To Eckerd Saturday.

One step forward- two steps back. That has been the story of the Rollins Tars this season. Coming off a conniving win over Lynn on Wednesday night the Tars came home- and- lost 75-65 to Eckerd College. With the loss Rollins falls to 9-8 overall- and- 3-6 in the SSC. Eckerd improves to 7-10 and 3-6 in the SSC with the win.
Hutton Yenor hit four 3-pointers- and- paced the Tars off the bench with 19 points- Jakobi Bonner had 17- Brooks Cluxton added 12- and- Trevor Recio scored 11. The Tars shot 44 percent as a team- 33 percent (8-24) from the 3-point line- and- 69 percent (11-16) from the free throw line. The Tars had 18 assists- and- 12 turnovers.
 The Tritons were led by 23 points from Travis Bianco- Admir Radoncic had 21- Malcolm Whitlow netted 13- and- Kristiyan Stavrev scored 11. The Tritons shot 59 percent from the field- 61 percent (11-18) from the 3-point line- and- 50 percent (6-12) at the free throw line. The Tritons won the rebounding battle 29-25. They had 24 assists- and- 15 turnovers in the contest.
 The two teams went back and forth for much of the opening half. Cluxton converted a layup that tied the game at 24 with eight minutes to go in the opening half. It was 35-31 Eckerd at the intermission after a Yenor 3-pointer for the Tars.
 The Tars got to within three (44-41) at the 14:19 mark.  The Tritons stretched the lead to 13 (67-54) at the three minute mark.  Rollins got to within six (71-65) with 23 ticks remaining- but that is as close as they would get.
