Rollins Rolls Past Panthers.

The Rollins Tars rolled past the Florida Panthers 87-67 at Warden Arena on Saturday night. With the win Rollins improves to 10-8 and 4-6 in the SSC. Florida Tech falls to 9-9 and 3-7 in the SSC.
 Rollins was paced by 23 points from Jakobi Bonner- Hutton Yenor darned five triples on his way to 21 points- while Brooks Cluxton added 14 points to go with eight boards. Trevor Recio led the Tars on the glass with 11 rebounds. Rollins shot 47 percent from the field- 40 percent (12-30) from the 3-point line- and- 83 percent (19-23) at the free throw line. The Tars won the rebounding battle 40-37. They had 19 assists- and- 12 turnovers in the contest.
 Florida Tech was led by 21 points- and- 13 rebounds from Derek Murphy- while Sesan Russell added 15. The Panthers shot 38 percent from the floor- 22 percent (8-36) from the 3-point line- and- 73 percent (11-15) at the free throw line. They had 18 assists- and- 12 turnovers in this one.
  The Panthers scored the first points of the game but the Tars would take a 15-6 lead eight minutes in. The Tars would lead by as many as 16 in the opening half- but they would take a 13 point lead (44-31) at the break.  Bonner scored 12 in the opening half- while Yenor tallied 11. The Tars shot 50 percent in the opening 20 minutes- 38 percent (6-16) from the 3-point line- and- 89 percent (8-9) at the free throw line. The Tars had a 23-11 rebounding advantage in the first 20 minutes- while they had 12 assists- and- eight turnovers.
 Florida Tech was led by Murphy who was the only Panther in double figures in the first half with 13- while Russell chipped in eight. The Panthers shot 32 percent from the floor- 20 percent (4-20) from the 3-point line- and- 78 percent (7-9) at the free throw line. They had eight assists- and- six turnovers in the opening stanza.
 The Tars would control much of the second half. After FIT was within 14 a pair of Will Erickson 3-pointer's made it 71-51 in favor of the Tars with 9:01 to go. From that point on the Panthers would get no closer than 15 the rest of the way.
 Rollins will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Daytona to face Embry-Riddle. Tip time is set for 7:30 PM at the ICI Center.
