The Rollins College Tars (9-4 2-1 SSC) look to get back on track Wednesday when they head to Boca Raton to battle the Fighting Knights of Lynn (9-6 2-1 SSC).
Rollins is just 2-4 in the past six games after a 7-0 start. Saturday was a tough loss in Winter Park as Eckerd edged the Tars 74-70 in overtime. Ian Scott had a chance to win it at the free throw line in regulation but could only split his his pair of free throws to force the OT. The Tars are a half game back of surprising SSC leader Florida Tech (3-1) at the quarter pole of the conference season. The Tars are averaging 69.5 points a game as a team, while they are giving up 65.5 points a contest.
Myk Brown leads Rollins in scoring at 13.4 points a night. The Senior from Gainesville is coming off a 20 point performance versus Eckerd on Saturday. Jeremy Sharpe is averaging 12.2 points a game, but had just five in the loss on Saturday. Dave Diakite has come on strong of late and is netting 11.2 points a game. Chris Malcolm leads the Tars in rebounding at 6.7 a night to go along with his 9.8 points.
The Fighting Knights come in winner's of six of it's last seven. The last being a 80-58 win over Palm Beach Atlantic. The Knights are 6-3 at home on the season. They score 74.3 points a game, while giving up just 62.3 points a contest. The Knights are one of the most prolific 3-point shooting teams shooting 39 percent on the season. They have been solid on the glass as well at a +3.9 margin per game. Josh Garcia paces the Fighting Knights at 12.5 points a game, while Slobodan Milijanic adds 11.3 a game. Brandon Smith chips in 10.3 a night. Michel Vidal leads the SSC in rebounding at 9.3 a contest.
