The Rollins College Tars (13-5 6-2 SSC) travel to one of the toughest places in the Sunshine State Conference to play in the conference Saturday night when they travel to Jenkins Field House to face Florida Southern (12-5 5-3 SSC).
The Tars are coming off a 65-56 win over Nova Southeastern in Winter Park on Wednesday. Dave Diakite continued his recent surge leading the way with 19 points and 11 rebounds, while Jeff Dirkin came off the bench to score 10. The Tars come into the game averaging 69.6 points a night, while allowing 65.7 a contest. Rollins lead the conference in field goal percentage defense. Their opponents shoot 40 percent on the season. The Tars are 4-1 on the road in conference play on the year with the loss coming last Saturday at Florida Tech. Dave Dikaite leads the Tars in scoring at 12.2 points a game and grabs five rebounds a night. Myk Brown comes into the contest putting up 11.9 a night while Jeremy Sharpe puts up 11.3 a game. Chris Malcolm comes into Saturday averaging 10.4 points and nearly three blocks a game.
The Mocs come into Saturday in a second place tie with Eckerd. They have won four straight after starting 1-3 in the league. FSC is coming off a 73-61 win over Palm Beach Atlantic on Wednesday night. Brett Bailey scored 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the win. The Mocs lead the SSC averaging 81.5 points a game as a team on the season. They are last in the league allowing 74.4 a night. The Mocs are 10-1 at home this season, including a perfect 4-0 in conference play. They post a pair of double digit scorers on the season. Seth Evans leads the way at 16.8 points a night, while Brett Bailey puts up 14.8 points and 7.7 rebounds a night.
