Tars Topple Sharks To Close First Half.

The Rollins College Tars improved to 13-5 overall and 6-2 in the SSC with a 65-56 win over Nova Southeastern at Warden Arena Wednesday. With the win the Tars kept pace with Florida Tech in the Sunshine State Conference.
   Dave Diakite continued his solid play of late tallying a double-double with 19 points and 11 rebounds. The transfer from UCF hit 12-14 from the free throw line in the win. Jeff Dirkin was the only other Tar to score double figures Wednesday as he came off the bench to tally 10 points on four of six shooting from the floor. Chris Malcolm had another solid game with seven points, eight rebounds, three steals and three blocks.
 Rob Hunnington and Iran Hollis had 12 points each to lead the Sharks (9-8 4-4 SSC). Shaun Pratl added eight point and 10 rebounds in the loss for NSU.  The Sharks sturggled shooting just 31 percent from the floor in the contest.
  The first 15 minutes saw eight lead changes and four ties. The Tars went on a 11-4 run to take a 32-23 lead late in the half sparked by a Dirkin 3-ball. A Hunington basket cut the lead to 32-25 at the half.
 The Tars took control in the second half. The lead swelled to 14 (47-33) halfway thru the second half. The Tars would lead by 15 (51-36) with 8:30 left. The Sharks would cut the lead to seven (53-46) with a 10-2 spurt. The Tars would make 10 of 12 free throws to ice the win.
