The Rollins College Tars (10-4 3-1 SSC) fresh off a thrilling 71-70 win over Lynn on Wednesday night travel to Saint Leo Saturday. The Tars have dominated the Lions winning the last 27 meetings between the two schools. The Tars and Barry are tied a top the Sunshine State Conference with identical 3-1 records. Barry will be at Florida Southern Saturday.
Myk Brown leads the way for the Tars averaging 12.9 points a game, while Dave Diakite and Jeremy Sharpe each net 11 points a night. Chris Malcolm adds 9.8 points, 6.6 rebounds and 2.5 blocks a night. The Tars come into Saturday's contest averaging 69.6 points a game while giving up 65.9 points a contest. The Tars have struggled from 3-point land and on the glass this season. They did shoot 11-17 from 3-point land and 64 percent from the field in the win in Boca Raton Wednesday. Scott Schuette and Jeff Dirkin each had career high's with 12 points on four 3-pointers each at Lynn.
Saint Leo comes in 8-6 overall and 2-2 in the SSC. The Lions are coming off a huge win of their own. The Lions got a 3-pointer at the buzzer to knock off Florida Southern 60-57 Wednesday. The Lions come in averaging 68.2 points a game. They are the best defensive team in the conference, allowing just 60.5 points a game. Three Lions score in double figures on the season. Trent Thomas leads the way at 14.5 points a game. Marcus Ruh adds 11 a night, while Shaun Adams contributes 10..8 points and 5.8 rebounds.
