Tars Look To Extend Conference Lead Wednesday.

The Rollins College Tars 11-4 overall and 4-1 in the Sunshine State Conference fresh off a 56-53 overtime win at Saint Leo Saturday look to carry some momentum into a home contest versus Barry Wednesday. The Tars are in first place in the SSC one half game ahead of idle Florida Tech in the standings. Barry is part of a trio of teams that sit at 3-2 in the conference (along with Eckerd and Nova Southeastern.)
The Tars have played five consecutive games decided by five points or less. They are 3-2 in those five games, including 1-1 in overtime contests. The Tars struggled shooting the ball in the win over the Lions on Saturday. They shot 37 percent from the field and just 3 of 23 from the 3-point line. Myk Brown led the Tars in scoring on Saturday with 15 points and leads the team in scoring on the season averaging 13 points a game. Chris Malcolm had another big contest against the Lions, tallying 13 points, 12 rebounds and a pair of blocked shots. Jeremy Sharpe and Dave Diakite are each putting up 11 points a night.  Malcolm comes into Wednesday averaging 10 points, seven rebounds and 2.5 blocks a contest. The Tars as a team average 68.7 points a night, while allowing 65 a game.
Barry is 8-8 on the season and 3-2 in the SSC. The Buccaneers have won four of the last five. The last time out they had a four game win streak snapped at Florida Southern by a 86-72 score.  Evan White put up 19 points in the contest. The Bucs have yet to win a road game on the season (0-3). Two Barry players score in double figures on the season. Chad Renfro is scoring 14.3 points a game to lead the Bucs box score while Evan White puts up 11.9 a game. Barry scores 72 points a game but allow 70.4 per game. They lead the SSC in blocked shots at 5.8 a game.
