The 24th ranked Rollins College Tars (11-2 3-0 SSC) will host the Nova Southeastern Sharks Wednesday night at Warden Arena. The Tars come into Wednesday's contest as one of two undefeated teams in the SSC (Saint Leo 4-0). The Tars are one of three SSC teams (Florida Southern and Saint Leo the others) that are nationally ranked this week.
The Tars are coming off a convincing 86-68 rout of Palm Beach Atlantic Saturday. The Tars led 54-24 at the half. The Tars are fourth in the conference in scoring at 75.3 points a game. Defensively, they allow just 62.9 a contest which is good for third in the conference. The Tars are led by Kyle McClanahan who continues to lead the team in scoring at 14.9 points a game. McClanahan also averages 5.1 assists a game. Dave Diakite has been on a tear of late and is coming off a 25 point, 11 rebound performance against PBA. Diakite is putting up 14.5 points a game and is hauling in 5.6 rebounds a night. Adam Allen is coming off a 20 point performance on Saturday and is averaging 10.3 a game. Brett Chance is scoring 9.9 a contest for the Tars.
NSU(8-4 1-2) comes in winners of five of six. They had a five game win streak snapped by Florida Southern (78-68) on Saturday. The Sharks do have one marquee win this season. NSU knocked off #15 Southern Indiana 77-76 in December. The Sharks are scoring 73 points a game, while they give up 75.2. A pair of Sharks are scoring in double figures this season. Iran Hollis leads NSU at 12.2 points a game and grabs 6.3 rebounds a night. Lukas Roesch puts up 11.2 a game. Two other Sharks have had solid scoring numbers thus far. Justin Jeangeard and Brian Cahill are chipping in 9.9 points a game.
