Tars Size Too Much For Vaqueros.

The Rollins College Tars got a career high 16 points from Lukas Winegarner and won a second straight. This one a 65-49 win against an undersized Puerto Rico-Bayamon.
  The Tars improved to 3-4 on the season with the victory. Winegarner was 3-of-5 from the field, hit his only 3-point attempt- and was 9- of 9- at the foul line. The transfer from Radford also had five rebounds  and  blocked two shots. Winegarner was the only Tar in double figures Monday. Adam Allen added nine points and Chris Uhle had eight. The Tars shot 48.6 percent (18-of-37 from the field.) They were a solid 7-of-15 (46.7 percent) from the 3-point line. The Tars shot 78.6 percent (22-28) at the foul line. Rollins had 13 assists and 15 turnovers.
  The Vaqueros dropped to 3-6 on the year. They were led by Carolos Ramos who scored a game -high 22 points. Victor Caratiny added 10. The Vaqueros shot 37.5 percent (15-of-40- from the field) and went 6-of-19- from the 3-point line (31.6 percent.) The Vaqueros shot 68.4 percent (13-of-19- at the foul line. The Vaqueros won the rebounding battle 26-24. They had nine assists and turned the ball over 19 times.
  Both teams started out hot in the early going. The Tars would lead 23-15 midway thru the first half as Winegarner would make four straight free throws. The rest of the half would be played fairly evenly and the Tars would lead 35-25 at the break. Bayamon cut that deficit to six early in the second half, but that is as close as they would get. The Tars would cruise to a second straight victory.
