The Rollins Tars (7-5 2-1 SSC) fresh off a big road win at Florida Tech Wednesday will host the Tritons of Eckerd College on Saturday at 4 PM at Warden Arena. You can catch all the action on the Tars Sports network at RollinsSports.com and on 91.5 FM WPRK in Winter Park.
The Tars bench came up big in the win over the Panthers. Scott Schuette scored 15 points including the game winning shot with 41 seconds left in regulation. Lukas Winegarner added his first career double-double (10 points and 13 rebounds off the Rollins bench.) The Tars come into Saturday's contest with the top defense in the SSC. They allow 61.4 points a night. Offensively the Tars are ninth in the conference, scoring 61.4 a game.
Mitch Woods is coming off a season high 23 points on Wednesday and leads the Tars averaging 13.2 points per game. Adam Allen is the only other Tar averaging double figures at 10.3 a contest. Alex Blessig has been solid as well. The transfer from Florida Gulf Coast averages 9.7 points and 3.8 assists a game. Jeff DIrkin leads the Tars in rebounding at 5.8 per game.
The Tritons (8-5 1-1 SSC) had won three in a row before taking a 84-55 thrashing against undefeated Florida Southern Wednesday. The Tritons were doomed by 25 turnovers against FSC. Jerrick Stevenson leads the Tritons box score scoring 14.2 points and six rebounds a game. Stevenson scored 20 in the last game. Josh Snodgrass puts up 12 points a game- Alex Bodney is scoring 11.1 a night. Ray Darnell rounds out the double digit scorers at 10.8 a night. The Tritons are seventh in the league in scoring at 70.8 points a night. On the other end they are fourth giving up 66.3 a night.
