The Rollins College Tars (8-9 2-5 SSC) will renew there oldest standing rivalry when they host the Moccasins of Florida Southern at Warden Arena Wednesday night. Some of the faces have changed but expect the rivalry to be as heated as ever.
Rollins comes in having lost four of five but can erase a lot of frustration with a big win against FSC. The Tars are coming off a tough loss 79-77 to Barry on Saturday. Jeff Dirkin had a career day on Saturday scoring 19 points and grabbing six rebounds. Adam Allen broke out of a recent shooting slump and put up 16. Mitch Woods added 13- and Alex Blessig also netted 13.
The Tars defense has been stout all season long. They are only giving up 63 points a night. On the other end the Tars are scoring just 67.5 a contest.
Woods paces the Tars at 13.3 points a night. He is joined in double figures by Blessig at 10 a night. Allen is putting up 9.1 a game.
The Mocs come in at 18-0 and 7-0 in the SSC and ranked second in the nation. They are one of four remaining unbeatens in Division II. The Mocs are well rested after not playing over the weekend. The last time out they pulled off a thrilling 87-83 overtime win over Tampa. Kevin Capers paced the Mocs with 26 in that contest. Tyler Kelly added 17- while Lamar McKnight tallied a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.
