#13 Rollins Meets Morehouse Saturday.

The 13th ranked Tars of Rollins College (0-1) look to bounce back from a opening 106-103 loss to Clark-Atlanta, when they battle the Maroon Tigers of Morehouse at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center in day two of the South Region Crossover.   Rollins could not hold on, after building a 17 point halftime lead in the opening loss. All five players scored in double figures for the Tars led by 24 points each from Sam Philpott and Eric Castaneda. Philpott eclipsed the 1,000 point mark for his career. Jeff Merton added 20 points- and in the process became the Tars 22nd leading scorer in school history passing Kevin Hogan Friday. Connor McKim had 17 points- eight rebounds- and five assists in the defeat.  Deion Clark added 11 points as well.
  Rollins shot 56 percent as a team- and- 53 percent from the 3-point line in the loss.  They also were a solid 80 percent (24-30) at the free throw line in the opener.  They lost the rebounding battle 39-28- and- had 23 assists but turned the ball over eight times.
    Morehouse was a 87-82 winner over Florida Tech on Friday night. They also had five players notch double figures in points.  Tyrius Walker led the way with 19 points- Martravious Little added 17- Jordan Wallace scored 15- and- Omar Alston notched 14 a double-double with 14 points and 16 rebounds.  Duby Maduegbunam scored to round out the double digit scorers for the Maroon Tigers.  They shot 41 percent as a team- and- 32 percent (7-22) from the 3-point line.  The Marroon Tigers were a perfect 24 of 24 at the free throw line Friday.  They had 19 assists and 10 turnovers as a team.
