Rollins Looks For First Win In Conference Opener Wednesday.

The Rollins Tars (0-2) look to get in the win column for the first time in the 2017-18 season when they take on the Panthers of Florida Tech (0-2) on Wednesday at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center. You can catch the video on RollinsSports.com with Jim "Shooter" Ferro and Robert Segal.
  Rollins lost a pair of tough ones in the SSC/SIAC Crossover. In the opener they were a 106-103 loser to Clark-Atlanta, before falling to Morehouse 85-82.
  In the opener it was a 17 point Rollins halftime lead (64-47) that they could not hold onto.  Saturday in the narrow loss to Morehouse Jeff Merton was unable to play.  Sam Philpott leads the Tars and is third in the SSC thus far averaging 23.5 points per game- Connor McKim is seventh in the league in scoring at 20 points a night and second in assists a 5.5 per game.  Eric Castaneda averages 18 a game after the opening weekend.  Offensively the Tars average 92.5 points per game which is good for fourth in conference and 26th nationally.  The Tars 24 3-pointer's a game is 27th best in DII.
  Florida Tech also opened the season with a pair of losses in the SSC/SIAC Crossover at Warden Arena.  The opener was a 87-82 loss to Morehouse, before a 90-69 drubbing by Clark-Atlanta.  Sam Daniel score 32 pointers in the opener- before 29 against Clark-Atlanta. He leads the conference and is seventh in the country averaging 30.5 points per game.  Jordan Major puts up 16 points a night and is third in the SSC averaging five  assists a game.  Richard Coil is third in the SSC averaging 11 rebounds a game.  FIT averages 75.5 points a game which is seventh in the conference- while they give up 88.5 a game which is sixth best in the conference.
