Rollins Rolls Past Bayamon.

The Rollins Tars (3-2 2-0 SSC) got a 31 point performance from Sam Philpott as they defeated Puerto Rico Bayamon 99-88 Tuesday night. With the  win the tars improved to 3-2- while Bayamon dropped to 0-1 on the season.
  Philpott is one of four players in double figures. Besides Philpott, Eric Castaneda scored 22- Connor McKim had 12 to go along with six assists- and- Jeff Merton added 14.  The Tars shot 50 percent from the field- 49 percent from the 3-point line (14-29-) and 78 percent (25-32) at the free throw line.  They had 26 assists and 13 turnovers.
  Baymaon was led by 23 points from Nathaniel Martinez- while- Luis Gonzalez added 21.  Luis Cuascut added 12- and- Roberto Dejesus had 11 in the defeat.  Bayamon shot 52 percent from the field and 36 percent from the 3-point line.  They had 10 assists and 13 turnovers.
  It was 5-0 Bayamon in the early going.  After a 15-0 Rollins run they led 28-16 with 8:19 in the opening half.  after Bayamon got to within two (33-31.) the Tars went on a big run to go up 51-37 at the half.
  The second half saw Bayamon get closer but three straight 3-pointer's by Castaneda would give NDC a 14 point lead,  The Tars led by 22 after a Parker Davis bucket (80-58.)  After a 19-3n run Bayamon would be within six (83-77) with 5:36 to go.  The Tars would score the next six and cruise to the victory.
 Rollins will be back in action at 2 PM Wednesday when they take on St.Thomas
