Rollins Heads To Boca Raton Saturday.

The Rollins Tars (1-2 1-0 SSC) head to Boca Raton to take on the Lynn Fighting Knights 0-1 (0-1 SSC) for a 4 PM tip on Saturday. You can catch the action on the new SSC Digital Network with Robert Segal and Jim "Shooter" Ferro.
  After dropping the first two of the season, Rollins picked up a much needed win Wednesday when they held off a late surge to defeat Florida Tech by a 83-72 score. The Tars lost to Clark-Atlanta 106-103 and 85-82 to Morehouse in the first two games of the season. This will be the first true road game of the season for Rollins.
  Last time out Rollins was led by a 27 point game from Sam Philpott-Deion Clark added 15 and dished out eight assists- while- Jack Fleming chipped in 12 off the bench. Parker Davis had his first nine points of his college career in his third game as a Tar.
 Philpott is leading the Tars and is fourth in the SSC averaging 24.3 points per game.  Jeff Merton scored 20 in his only game action, as he has missed the last two games due to injury.  Connor McKim is averaging 15 points- 6.7 rebounds- and- 5.3 assists a game.  The Tars are 4th in the conference in scoring putting up 89.3 points per game.  At the other end they are at the bottom of the league (11th) giving up 87.7 points a night.
  Lynn (0-1) trailed big early and came back to make it a four point game before falling 87-81 to Nova Southeastern. Ryan Peterson scored 22 off the bench to lead the Fighting Knights offense.  Rasheed Worrell added 18 points and seven rebounds, while Jamal Palmer netted 15.  Lynn is sixth in the league in scoring offense, and is 10th in the league in scoring defense giving u 87 points a game.  The Fighting Knights were picked seventh in the SSC preseason poll, while the Tars were picked to finish seconds.
