Eleventh Heaven! Tars Continue Win Streak Behind Robertson and Malcolm!

The Rollins College Tars ran there win streak to eleven games with a 86-49 thumping of Saint Leo at Warden Arena Saturday. The Tars improved to 20-4 overall and 12-1 in the SSC. The Lions fell to 10-13 and 1-12 in the SSC.
  Matt Robertson and Chris Malcolm both set career highs on Saturday. Robertson had a career high in points with 27. He eclipsed his previous career high set in the season opener at Valdosta vs Delta State. Chris Malcolm set a school record with nine blocked shots. He broke the previous record of eight set by Frode Loftesness back in 1995. Malcolm added 11 points and 8 rebounds for the 23rd ranked Tars. Robertson hit 5 of 8 from three point range and added 10 rebounds to go with his 27 points. Nick Wolf continued his double digit scoring streak as he added 16 points and 9 rebounds. Wolf needs just 15 points to pass his uncle Jeff Wolf for third on the Tars all time scoring list. He also needs just 29 rebounds to get to 1,000 for his career.  The Tars shot the ball well all night shooting at a 55% clip and going 12-14 at the foul line.  The Tars had 22 assists as a team and only 6 turnovers. The Tars out rebounded St.Leo 37-31.
  Saint Leo struggled all day, as they have for much of the season. Quentin Cullop led the Lions in scoring with 7 points. Five other players added 6. The Lions shot 30% from the field and hit 6-23 from three point land. They were 64% (7-11) at the foul line. The Lions had 12 assists and 10 turnovers.
  Saint Leo took the lead early 8-2 after the first four minutes. Then the Tars took control with a 20-1 run that made 22-9. The eleven straight wins is the longest conference streak in Rollins history, Overall it is the longest since the Tars ran off 14 straight back in the 2002-03 season.
  Leo got the lead down to 10 at 26-16 but the Tars closed the opening stanza on a 14-0 run. The Tars had a 40-16 lead going into halftime. The Tars would cruise in the second half and lead by as many as 41 (81-40).
  The Tars will be back in action on Wednesday. The opponent Palm Beach Atlantic is one of four teams to beat the Tars this season. Tip time at Warden Arena is set for 7 PM.
