Rollins Nipped By Lynn Saturday.

The Rollins Tars dropped a tight one Saturday- as they were a 80-77 loser to Lynn in Boca Raton. With the loss Rollins fell under .500 at 9-10 overall and 3-8 in the SSC. Lynn improved to 16-2 and 9-2 in the SSC.
  Michael Baez led the way for Lynn with 22 points- Jamal Palmer added 18- and- Darius Moore chipped in 10. The Fighting Knights shot 45 percent from the floor- 41 percent (12-29) from the 3-point line- and- 56 percent (10-18) from the free throw line. Lynn won the rebounding battle 34-26. They had 13 assists and 13 turnovers as a team.
  Hutton Yenor sparked Rollins off the bench and paced the Tars with 20 points- Eric Castaneda scored 18- Jakobi Bonner added 15- and- Connor McKim netted 10 in the loss. The Tars shot 58 percent as a team- 46 percent (5-11) from the 3-point line- and- 78 percent (14-18) from the free throw line. The Tars had 13 assists and 13 turnovers as a team.
  A game of runs saw the Tars and Fighting Knights tied at 18 with 9:30 to go in the opening half. Rollins briefly took the lead- only to see Lynn take it right back. The game would again be knotted, this time at 30 after a McKim 3-pointer with 2:29 in the opening half. Yenor would put the Tars on top- but a 3-pointer by Baez would give Lynn a 33-32 halftime lead. The Fighting Knights would be on top by 11 (55-44) with 11:48 to go in the contest. Several minutes later Rollins would cut the lead to one (69-68) after a Castaneda 3-pointer with 2:27 to go. The next five points would belong to the Fighting Knights. After a McKim 3-pointer Rollins would trail 79-77 with 11 seconds to play. With one second left Lynn would go up by three and then after the second free throw was missed time would expire.
Rollins will be back in action Wednesday when they travel to Daytona Beach. Tip time against Embry-Riddle is set for 7:30 PM. You can catch all the action on RollinsSports.com
