The Rollins Tars will host the Sailfish of Palm Beach Atlantic in Sunshine State Conference action on Saturday at Warden Arena inside the Alfond Sports Center. Tip time is set for 4 PM and you can catch all the action on RollinsSports.com
Rollins (9-13 3-11 SSC) has lost five straight and nine of the past 10. The last time out the Tars were throttled 87-58 by Nova Southeastern at the "Shark Tank." Hutton Yenor and Trevor Recio each had 13 in the defeat. The Tars shot 32 percent from the field- 32 percent from the 3-point line- and- 87 percent from the free throw line in the defeat. They had 14 assists and 15 turnovers as a team.
In the first meeting with PBA on December 7th the Tars were a 80-79 winner at Rubin Arena. Connor McKim led the way with 18 points- Recio added 14- Jakobi Bonner netted 11- and- Chu Enechionyia also scored in double digits with 10. The Tars shot 54 percent as a team in the victory- 53 percent (10-19) from the 3-point line- and- shot at a 77 percent clip (20-26) from the free throw line. The Tars had 12 assists and 21 turnovers in the win.
On the season Bonner leads the team in scoring at 14.4 per game- McKim puts up 13.4 per night- and- Yenor nets 12.8 per contest. The Tars average 75 points per game-while they give up 76.1 per contest.
PBA (9-12 5-8 SSC) is coming off a 66-63 loss to Tampa last time out. De'Ondre Jackson paced the Sailfish with 19- while Andrew Moemeka added 17. PBA shot 40 percent as a team- 29 percent (5-17) from the 3-point line- and- 57 percent (12-21) at the free throw line. They had 10 assists and 12 turnovers as a team.
In the first meeting with the Tars Casey Carpinello had a game high 20 points- Bakari Warthen added 17- and- Jules Jasmin scored 15. The Sailfish shot 46 percent from the field- 34 percent (11-32) from the 3-point line- and- 57 percent (8-14) from the free throw line.
Three PBA players average double figures on the season led by Jackson at 14.3 per game- Justin puts up 13.8 a night- and- Warthen scores 10.2 a contest. The Sailfish score 73.9 a game- while they allow 74 per contest.
